Summer Dude Ranch Vacations
Summer is the season for the traditional family dude ranch vacation. Horses, cookouts, green grass, quivering aspens, and barn dances make your week one that will be looked back on for years to come.

Winter Family Vacations
Looking for a unique family vacation this winter? Whether you are introducing your kids to snow for the first time, or taking a break from the same downhill ski vacation you’ve done for years, Vista Verde provides a winter wonderland that is hard to match. Snow tubing, sleigh rides, hot chocolate, bubbling hot tubs, horses and snowshoes….there are so many ways to play in the snow!

Open for families in December and then again President’s Day week through late-March
Christmas and New Year’s stays are Saturday-Saturday stays
President’s Day week and on has a 3-night minimum stay (we strongly recommend the full week stay)

Meet Our Kids Program Coordinator
Stephanie Shreve returns to Vista Verde Ranch to manage all youth activities while leading our awesome team of kid supervisors. Her journey here began in the winter of 2018 and continued until the fall of 2022, when she took on roles as a wrangler, housekeeper, ranch hand, and front desk attendant. This diverse experience has provided her a deep understanding of our ranch mission and operations.
Stephanie also brings a strong background working with kids as a former grade-school teacher. She believes our kids program is a cornerstone of the Vista Verde mission by giving young guests the opportunity to explore nature and engage in activities like horseback riding, downhill tubing, and more! With Stephanie and our team of kid supervisors, the kids program will remain a memorable part of every family’s visit.

People always look at us like we are crazy when we tell them we judge how good a week was based on how many kids we made cry. What? The truth is, if your kids are crying when it’s time to leave the ranch, then we know we did our job well. The relationships the kids made with each other, the animals, the staff, and being disconnected so they can actually tune in were such powerful experiences that they don’t want to leave. We made an impact. And, at the end of the day, that is why we do what we do–to make a positive impact on each guest. We’re sorry if that means you have to deal with some tears….well, sort of.
