Optional Adventures for Your Colorado Winter Vacation
In addition to all the winter activities at the ranch, we can also set you up with brand new experiences through our great outfitters! These activities can be arranged at an additional cost.
Powder Cat Skiing
Heated snow cats are ready to take you and your crew deep into the powder of Northern Colorado, where the skiing is epic and the snow is the best in the world. You will get to ski or snowboard in some of the deepest, driest and most consistent snowfall in all of the Rocky Mountains. You’ll look forward to returning to the ranch at the end of the day for a soak in your hot tub and a well deserved dinner in the Lodge.
Dog Sledding
Most people think that when they go dog sledding they will sit in a sled and watch the world go by. That’s not quite how it goes here with our great dog sledding outfitter! These folks will teach you the basics of driving your team, introduce you to your dogs, get you set up on your sled, and then…release the hounds! While it may seem wild and crazy, it’s not. The dogs are very well trained, and they know their job. The guides are professional and safety conscious and they spend the whole trip keeping tabs on you while riding their snow machines along the course. Halfway through the trip you and your passenger can swap out for the second half of the two hour tour.
The outfitter is located about an hour from the ranch, and this trip is an additional cost. Can you say bucket list? It has been an experience of a lifetime for many of our adventurous guests.
Winter Driving School
Buckle up for some fun on a snowy driving track. The Bridgestone Winter Driving School offers 4 hour and all-day courses where you can learn how to handle winter driving safely. Have some fun sliding and slipping in a controlled environment, so when you get out on the road you don’t slide and slip when it matters!
Other Activities
And there’s more! Hot air ballooning can be arranged as well through our stable of trained outfitters in Steamboat Springs.
