We use snowmobiles a lot around the ranch for utility–grooming trails, transporting gear, hauling kids (and adults) up a hill so they can tube down, and more. But, we also have a fleet set aside for our guests to take out with a guide to explore the back country and access terrain that you otherwise can’t reach in the winter.
Join us for a 2-hour or all-day snowmobiling excursion and drive your machine through the snowy landscape. The tours head off the ranch quickly, and up into the Routt National Forest with views of nearby mountain peaks and snow-filled valleys. Much like many of our programs at the ranch that encourage our guests to grow their skills and learn during their stay, there is a progression to the tours that we offer if you are looking for more of a snowmobiling vacation.
We start our guests with a 2-hour trail ride, and then you may progress to a 2-hour powder ride where the guides will take you into the powder to teach you how to maneuver and manage the machines in the fresh snow. In addition, there is the option of all-day rides that give riders time on the trail as well as powder riding instruction and play time.
Although many families think it will be fun to ride snowmobiles together on their vacation, we do no recommend snowmobiling for kids as it can get boring and sometimes cold to sit behind their parent for hours on end. Happy kids make happy parents!
Snowmobile tours are an add-on charge. Helmets and bibs are provided.
