Creating a retreat at Vista Verde Ranch

There has been never been a season in our time at Vista Verde that we are more inspired to provide our guests a retreat from their worries and a place to relax, reconnect, and enjoy this peaceful place.  Since the beginning of the pandemic we have balanced local guidelines along with respecting the various perspectives of our guests and staff. At Vista Verde Ranch we are committed to adhering to mandates put forth by the State of Colorado and Routt County Public Health Department.

While our policies may not work for every person, we strive to be upfront and transparent about the policies and implementation.  Please review this information to better understand what you can expect as you join us at the ranch.  We ask for your kindness and respect with our Front Desk staff as you seek information to understand if visiting Vista Verde feels right for you.  Understandably, restrictions will be adjusted as county and state guidelines change.

Dining

• Our local health department has approved self-service buffets, and we incorporate this style of service into many of our meals.
  • We ask our guests to wash their hands prior to meals and will have hand sanitizer available by the self-service areas.
• Coming to Vista Verde is coming to a community where guests and staff dine together.
  • For parties who prefer to sit alone at meals due to Covid exposure concerns, please alert us and we will place a reserved sign at a table with your name on it at each meal.
  • Staff members will have the opportunity to join you at several meals throughout the week. Our staff are aware that a reserved sign indicates guest who prefer to dine with just their party

Activities

• A hiking, mountain biking, and fishing trip (back country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter) option will always exist to depart right from the ranch. For guests choosing to go off-ranch in a vehicle for these activities they will potentially be in a vehicle with other guests.
• The beauty of most of our activities is that they are typically outdoors and naturally socially distanced!  So get out and enjoy the fresh air and space.
• Evening programs will be offered as we have in the past with options like a barn dance or musical entertainment for those who would like to participate.

Arrivals and Departures

• We will ask guests to complete as much arrival information prior to arrival so the check-in process is as short as possible. Please help us by filling out forms as requested ahead of time.
• Guests will receive their final bill via email prior to departure, so it will not be necessary to visit the Front Desk to complete your check-out.
• Parties may be combined for shuttles to and from the Hayden airport as well as trips to Steamboat Springs.

Children Programs

• For the evenings when adults enjoy a formal dinner and children join the Dine ‘n Dash meal, families who opt out of their children joining the Dine ‘n Dash dinners may choose to dine together for Formal dinner. If the children are willing to sit through the longer meal and order off the menu, we will set a family table for the Formal dinner.  If children are not interested in that option, we can prepare a table for the family at the Dine ‘n Dash dinner.  Notice of choosing one of these options is needed that morning so our chefs can prepare.

Housekeeping

We want to provide you the highest level of service and attention, but we understand if you prefer to limit contact with staff entering your room.  To accommodate personal preferences, we are offering options for Housekeeping services:

• Classic Service: The classic VVR standard, for those guests who prefer daily make-up, evening turndown, and mid-week sheet change service.  You may opt out of evening turndown service.
• Daily Drop Service: We understand some of you may not want to share your space with others once you arrive, so we will stock your room appropriately for the entire stay. You can request delivery or pick up of items needed at the front desk and housekeepers will complete the transaction at your front door.
