It was pretty exciting when Ben got the call, and the whopping and hollering was heard across the ranch. Next thing you know, he was coming into the Great Room on two wheels shouting for Devyn and the whole place erupted into a spontaneous celebration when we all heard the news. Finally, after all these years, the Farwell Mountain Band was signed to a record label!
The new this week has turned the ranch into a whirlwind of activity. How do they prepare to map out the rest of the year while on tour and heading to Nashville to record their album? How do we continue to run the guest operation while all this is happening? More questions than answers, but we have a few of the basic pieces of the puzzle sorted out at this point.
First off, who acts as GM when Ben is on the road? We were pleased to find a GM temp agency that does just that! We knew about traveling nurses, but who ever knew there is such a thing as traveling GM’s? We look forward to meeting whomever they send us to cover for Ben this summer, and hope the various temps enjoy their time at the ranch as the GM for a short period of time.
While it’s easier to cover Devyn’s office role with Roxy and Steph agreeing to forgo days off for the summer, and a strong team coming in to support them, it is a bit more tricky to cover the Wild Yoga sessions that Devyn typically instructs. Just as we were scratching our heads, the answer walked in the room. Chef Jonathon has been looking for ways to improve his overall health, and although he is becoming a Cross Fit junkie this year, he also wanted to bring in a more meditative element to his wellness plan. We think the combination of a meditation and stretch session with Chef Jonathon followed by a great bottle of wine will help our guests relax and connect with their surroundings and their own well being. Plus, we are expecting the zen side of Jonathon will really resonate out at the Wild Yoga platforms.
Besides other nuts and bolts, the last aspect of the band being on the road so much will be our concern that some of our guests may cancel their stays in order to attend one of the concerts in their home city. So, if you are a guest from Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston or Milwaukee, please contact us immediately for tour dates and we will make sure the dates don’t overlap with your visit to the ranch. If they do, we will charter a private plane so you can attend the concert and get back to the ranch that same evening and not miss your ranch experience. All of this is just so amazing, isn’t it?
Speaking of amazing, has anyone who made it this far not realize it is April Fool’s Day?
