The hammering outside the Lodge is hard to miss right now, but each day Nate and his crew get closer to having our new fitness room finished. The new setup will be far more convenient for our guests to access and will offer more space to spread out. The best part is, it is right next to the pool so you can go from your sweaty workout to lounging by the pool in just a few short steps! Of course, most of our guests know the best fitness session is out on the trail, but we like to provide an indoor option for days when the weather is not as appealing.
While less noisy, there are also some big changes happening in one of our cabins. Saddle and Little Agnes are getting some updates and will be ready to debut at the start of the summer season. Right now, the painters are racing the clock to get their work done before the next crew moves in.
On a less glamorous front, ranch hand Steph has been running the skid steer hour after hour to rid the corral of all the poop that piled up over the course of the winter. We keep our old guys closer in during the winter months, so we can feed them extra and keep an eye on them. But scooping poop in the winter is a little more challenging with the snow falling all the time. So, instead, we come in once the snow has melted and give that job to our favorite ranch hand (or at least that is what Bill told Steph!).
In between all these events, our fire extinguishers get refreshed, the snow tires get swapped out for summer tires on every vehicle, the saddles get cleaned and repaired, the carpets and windows get washed, the horses get all their vaccinations and deworming, and the chefs pour over recipes to create new menus. Even though it is relatively quiet, a lot of work still happens while we are in our off-season!
