Vista Verde Ranch
So we've told you all the wonderful things about our stay at the ranch.  But what was really the cream of the crop was getting to know all the staff.  In fact, we were laughing that if we applied to work here, we probably wouldn't get the job because we don't have enough degrees!  They are all so wonderful and smart and truly seem to enjoy what they are doing.  We wanted to take them all home with us!

Wranglers

Lee Wynkoop

Lee Wynkoop hails from Littleton, Colorado. He studied natural resources with a concentration in parks and protected area management at Colorado State University. When Lee “grows up” he wants to be a park ranger, but for now he’s playing with the horses and living the cowboy life. Overseeing a herd of 70 plus horses might make the people part of being a park ranger seem like a piece of cake when he does grow up.

Rusty Chadwick

Rusty Chadwick is a true renaissance man. Although you’ll see him wrangling and training horses like it’s all he’s ever known—he’ll surprise you with some of his more domestic hobbies, such as knitting! Rusty grew up in North Carolina and graduated with a history/teaching degree from Grove City College, PA. He’ll help Lee run the show up at the barn this summer.

Caleb Jones

Caleb Jones is a Colorado native, but grew up in Cleveland, OH. He graduated from OSU’s Agricultural Technical Institute with a degree in Horse Production and Management. He’s been a riding instructor at a YMCA camp as well as a wrangler at two other guest ranches. We’re sure Caleb will be jumping in to help with the horses, whenever we can spare him from the other ranch hand duties!

Nicky Throgmartin

Nicky Throgmartin is half of the double trouble twin duo here at the ranch. She attends University of Indianapolis where she is majoring in elementary education and minoring in mild intervention. Nicky hopes to take dogs into the classroom as a furry teacher’s assistant. Nicky grew up with horses and is currently a member of the U Indy equestrian team. She’ll be putting those skills to work out in the barn.
