Vista Verde Ranch
We wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had at your ranch. The beauty of the land and facilities in the winter was picture perfect and beyond our expectations. Snow laden pines, cozy cabins and more amenities than we expected were just part of it. Little things like the great smelling soap, basket of goodies and the prepared wood stove were very nice touches.

Off Ranch Adventures

We can hook you up with brand new experiences like dog sledding and powder cat skiing! If the thrill of cross country skiing is not thrilling enough here are some off-ranch activities to fulfill your adventurous or curious spirit.  These activities can be arranged at an additional cost.

Dog Sledding

Everyone should try dog sledding at least once. It's one of those experiences our guests invariably want to write home about. You actually drive these highly-trained Huskies yourself on a scenic groomed trail. The dogs can sense a rookie, but once on the trail, they get into it and there's nothing quite like it. The trip is around 2 hours, and there are two people per sled so you can take turns driving at the mid-way mark. If you are driving, there is some work involved helping drive the dogs.

Snowmobiling

Drive up to the Continental Divide or just take a spin for a few hours. Our well-equipped outfitter has the latest machines and is ready to take you on a great ride. Drive yourself or share a machine with a partner as a trained guide leads you in and out of the trees and open meadows. The snowmobile trips take place away from the ranch so the noise wont bother our guests who are staying behind for peace and quiet. Trip lengths vary from 2 hours to all-day. We recommend the 2 hour ride for first timers.

Downhill Skiing

See for yourself why the Steamboat Ski Area is such a popular place to visit. And despite the popularity, the lift lines never seem to be that long. We'll pack you a lunch and take you in right to the Gondola (about a 45 minute drive) so you can spend a full day skiing or snowboarding. Then we pick you up to return to the ranch for a soothing hot tub, delicious dinner and some evening entertainment. Lessons and equipment can easily arranged.  For more information on ticket and lesson pricing visit www.steamboat.com

Powder Cat Skiing

Our Outfitter's snowcats are ready to take you and your crew deep into the powder of Northern Colorado, where the skiing is epic and the snow is the best in the world. With 10,000 acres of permitted snowcat skiing terrain, you will get to ski or snowboard in some of the deepest, driest and most consitent snowfall in all of the Rocky Mountains. You?ll look forward to returning to the ranch at the end of the day for a soak in your hot tub and a well deserved dinner in the Lodge.
