Vista Verde Ranch
We wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had at your ranch. The beauty of the land and facilities in the winter was picture perfect and beyond our expectations. Snow laden pines, cozy cabins and more amenities than we expected were just part of it. Little things like the great smelling soap, basket of goodies and the prepared wood stove were very nice touches.

Getting to the Ranch

There are several ways to get to Vista Verde. First, you can fly into Denver International Airport (DIA) and then take a connecting flight up to the Steamboat/Hayden, also known as Yampa Valley Regional Airport, (HDN) and we will pick you up and bring you to the ranch. This option is the best in the winter, when the roads from Denver can be snowy depending on the day. Also, during the winter there are more flight options and even some direct flights from major hubs. We recommend contacting the Colorado Dude Ranch Travel Service at 800-729-5521 for help with finding the best flight options. They know how best to get guests in and out of Colorado and often have access to better airfare than what can be found elsewhere.

The second option is to fly into Denver and rent a car to drive to the ranch. The drive takes around 3 1/2 hours, and is a beautiful drive on easy roads through the mountains and high plains. This option is recommended for summer travel as it allows you to avoid the potential hassles of an additional flight that could involve delays, maintenence issues and lost bags. Hey, what can we say, we're kind of down on connecting flights.

The third option is to fly into Denver and then take an Alpine Taxi (www.alpinetaxi.com) shuttle to Steamboat. We will meet you in Steamboat and bring to to the ranch.

We're often asked if a guest needs a car while at the ranch. The easy answer is no, but many times we find that guests do enjoy the flexibility of having their own vehicle. Although we're happy to take you into Steamboat for shopping and transport you to all activities, having your own vehicle does allow you the freedom to come and go as you please.

Driving Directions from Denver

Drive west on I-70 to Silverthorne.

Turn right and drive north on Highway 9 to Kremmling.

In Kremmling, turn left and northwest on Highway 40 over Rabbit Ears Pass to Steamboat Springs.

Drive past the ski area and through town to the west side of Steamboat on Highway 40.

Turn right (north) on County Road 129. The intersection is noted by a stoplight and a 7-11 on the northeast corner.

Follow CR 129 north about 18 miles.

You will go through the town of Clark…don’t blink or you’ll miss it!

Just past Clark you will cross the Elk River. Immediately after, turn right onto Seedhouse Road (aka County Road 64).

Follow Seedhouse Road about 5 miles until you see our sign on the left-hand side of the road. Take a left into the driveway.

Follow our driveway about one mile until you come to the main lodge at the ranch.

Welcome to Vista Verde! Come on in and we’ll get you checked in.
