Massage, Dog Sledding and other Optional Adventures
Optional Adventures for your Colorado winter vacation
Here are some more options for adventures during your winter vacation at Vista Verde.
DOWNHILL SKIING: The Steamboat Ski Area is world famous for its champagne powder snow, long downhill runs, short lift lines and friendly atmosphere. Their children’s learn to ski program is particularly noteworthy. Daily lift tickets may be purchased online at Steamboat Resort. Vista Verde has an exclusive relationship with Christy Sports at Gondola Square with special pricing for ski and snowboard rentals as well as apparel.
DOG SLEDDING: Spend an afternoon in the beautiful back country wilderness. It’s truly an exciting and scenic experience as you drive an amazing team of dogs through the deep snow. We will take you to their headquarters which is about an hour from the ranch. The cost is $160 per person or $110 per child under 80 pounds for the adventure. On King!
SNOWMOBILING: Leave the ski trails behind on a high-performance snowmobile. A two-hour excursion is $115 for adults, $60 for a passenger and children under 10 are $15. A passenger riding with a guide is $100.
CAT SKIING: Experience floating turns through virgin powder accessed by Snow cats. Guides and meals are provided, however guests need to have their own ski or snowboard gear. The charge for this incredible all day trip is around $600 per person or $1,000 for a couple.
MASSAGE: Soothe your sore muscles and free up your stress related tension with a mixture of deep tissue massage, pressure points, and stretching. Massages are available to be scheduled on Tuesdays, Fridays, and some Sundays at 3:00 and 4:15. The fee is $130/hour and Trish will meet you for your appointment in the massage room. See our spa menu for more details.
Guests visiting during the Christmas and New Year’s weeks should call ahead to book any of these activities as they book up faster during the holiday season.
The cost of these trips will simply be added to your bill. The ranch provides transportation to and from the off ranch adventures. See one of us at the front desk to make arrangements or if you have any questions.
These outfitters require at least 48-hour notice for cancellations, longer for some. Otherwise, fees will apply unless they can rebook the spot.
