Wranglers
Terry Wegener
Terry Wegener has been a professional horse trainer for 30 (plus!) years specializing in Reining and Working Cowhorse. He is also an approved judge for Reining and Ranch Versatility. Annie, Terry’s wife rides and trains Thunder for the Denver Broncos and both of them are busy at Bronco games and functions. Terry loves riding, teaching and training at VVR. Staff and guests at VVR are always excited to have a clinic and laugh with Terry.
Nicky Throgmartin
Nicky Throgmartin hails from the Hoosier state of Indiana but now calls Vista Verde home. Her love of horses and riding pulled her away from the University of Indianapolis, where she rode on the equestrian team. She has been seeking to continue her equine education by accompanying us to several horse sales and riding clinics. She’s also been assisting professional horse trainer, Terry Wegener, with some of his younger stock and our newborn foals.
Reid Morgan
Reid Morgan, our Head Wrangler, is no stranger to guest ranching. He spent a few summers wrangling at Lost Valley before joining us last year as a hiking and biking guide. He calls Fishers, Indiana home. Reid graduated from Purdue University with a degree in civil engineering, which he puts to good use in our Horse Program. He enjoys playing music with the Farwell Mountain Boys during campfire. Reid is always looking to learn something new.
Nathan Margason
Nathan comes to us from Magnolia, Texas for his sixth season at VVR. This winter he’s excited to get into back into the corral with the rest of our wranglers and continue his dream of working on a ranch. His love for riding, being active and dancing makes him the perfect fit for Vista Verde. You’ll know him immediately by his distinctly western mustache!
John Isder
John grew up in Fulda, Minnesota. He loves working and playing in the outdoors and is excited to be joining us for his fifth season here at the ranch. His adventurous personality, dedication to work hard and his love for serving others makes him the perfect part of our crew. John completed Ferrier School in Minneapolis last year, and while the horses won’t be shoed in the winter he’s stoked to be a part of our wrangler team once again!
