Kid and Teen Programs
This is Erica’s third season managing the youth program at VVR. In her spare time, you can usually find her hiking with her dogs, practicing yoga beneath the aspens or enjoying some of her husband’s (Chef John) cooking. Erica has taught all over the world, including in Florida and Thailand. She loves living on the ranch where she can appreciate the beautiful nature that surrounds us, especially in the summer time.
Before returning for her second season at Vista Verde, Meagan spent her off season walking the El Camino de Santiago, a hike across Spain with fellow VVR staffer Beka Adam. Last year, Meagan finished an 11 month mission trip to 11 countries, called the World Race. Other activities Meagan loves to get involved with include origami, pie baking and karaoke. She cannot wait to share her love for nature, horses and arts & crafts with the kids this summer. Yehaw!
Conner is a nursing major and passionate about working with kids. She enjoys being outside and participating in any outdoor activities.Travel is also on the top of her list of favotite things. Fun fact: she is scuba certified and hopes to someday travel to Australia to put her skills to use.
Jake calls Westfield his hometown, but he actually spent his first four years in Anchorage, Alaska. Jake is currently pursuing a degree in Biology, in hopes of one day going to medical school. He played lacrosse all four years in high school and was very involved in Young Life. His favorite activities include hiking, mountain biking and basketball.
Brandi loves anything that calls for competition, has a strong passion for music, and really loves to bake! She absolutely loves hanging out with kids, hence the elementary education degree. Brandi also really enjoys traveling and experiencing new things.

Sally graduated from Birmingham Southern with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. Currently, she is working towards achieving her Master’s in Facility Management at Georgia Tech; she will graduate with that degree after this fall. This will be Sally’s second summer working as a kids wrangler. She grew up showing American Saddlebreds all around the Southeast region of the U.S. Sally’s Favorite part of working at Vista Verde: growing out her mustache on Saturdays for cowboys and indians.
Ashley was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She recently graduated from NC State with a degree in Textile Technology Design. When Ashley is not spending time with her friends or family, she is most likely adventuring outside or crafting (quilting is her favorite!). She is a lover of dogs, wolfpack sports, pizza, travel, summer, photography and a good cup of coffee. Ashley has lived in the Philippines and The Czech Republic and the next thing on her bucket list is to dog sled under the northern lights. She is so excited for this summer and cannot wait to wrangle up horses and some kiddos!
Dan graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in December 2012 and will start medical school at the University of Colorado Denver in August. After college, he started working as an EMT in Sacramento until he got jealous of Vista Verde’s pictures posted of the ranch and decided that he needed to check it out for himself. He just returned from a two month traveling adventure in Southeast Asia, where he mountain biked, rock climbed, kite surfed and relaxed on the beach.
Originally from the Chicago area, JP moved to Colorado to work at Vista Verde in the winter of 2009. After spending four seasons at the ranch, she decided to try life down the road in Steamboat Springs, where she currently resides. JP nows works at the North Routt Community Charter School in Clark. Outside of work, JP enjoys hiking, a good sense of humor, camping, road trips and cheering on Chicago sports teams. Go Cubs! She is thrilled to be returning to Vista Verde to work as a teen supervisor this summer!
Excitingly, this will be Cori’s fourth summer spent at Vista Verde! She is a lover of travel, photography, soccer, handwritten letters, and of course, horses and teens. Recently, Cori spent time for in Brazil doing mission work. After studying Elementary Education at Indiana University, Cori’s dream job is to one day be an elementary school teacher. Any type of outdoor activities are Cori’s favorite, and to her, laughter is the best!
